Yes, I’ve been away.
No, I really don’t have an excuse.
Draft 3 of MysteryNovel is complete!
In a little while, I’ll make a post about what happens next, but right now, I’m going to let other things eat my arms for a while.
Final Word Count: 96,061
Final Page Count: 296
To date, this draft is the longest single work I’ve finished.
The title says it all, folks.
I have not abandoned this blog, I swear!
And it’s very unlikely that I will abandon this blog, mostly because I have this annoying habit of not being able to let things fall to the wayside. Especially when in has to do with my writing. But let’s be honest, a total of maybe three people read this blog. And only very occasionally.
So am I going to abandon this shout into the void?
Nah. I clearly seem to like the sound of my own voice.
Anyway, I have been writing, believe it or not. I’ve just forgotten to keep up the total here. Don’t be fooled, though; part of it is a calculated effort to ignore this crazy deadline I’ve set for myself. And I’ve been having a bit of a large existential crisis, but that’s neither here nor there.
46 days (where did all my time go?)
Based on where I am according to story trajectory, I’m roughly 25,000-30,000 words away from the end (the happy end? the bitter end?). In theory. I seem to have this illusion that all the hard work with reworking the beginning is done. But that’s not quite true. Since I need to, you know, rewrite the end too.
